Pop Up Blockers

I am interested to hear from others if they are experiencing a lot of issues with pop up blockers preventing their completed projects from running from an online LMS.

Is there a preferred browser that we direct users to, or is there action I should take in the building of my projects to prevent triggering the blockers.

Many thanks in advance!

There are a number of features in eLearning that use the same capabilities of some of the undesirable aspects of the internet. As such, the fact that your LMS opens your course in a new window might make it subject to popup blockers. This is true of SWF and HTML. My recommendation is to train your staff to allow the “popup” to open, rather then to allow it to block your course from running. You don’t want to circumvent popup blockers from doing their job but perhaps a job aid on the landing page of your LMS might be in order.

Can you give some examples, please?  Just a suspicion: maybe you are publishing to SWF and most recent browsers do not embed the Flash Player automatically (which will soon disappear completely)? You should not publish to SWF anymore.
As for browsers: do not use IE, that is the most important recommendation. MS is not developing it further since Edge appeared and it has very low support for HTML5 which is what the output of Captivate should be.
