Could somebody confirm that Captivate is a 32-bit application which will not run in Mac OS Catalina?

Is there an update planned to make it 64-bit?

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere.

Captivate on a Mac has 32-bit functionality, unfortunately. I told someone this months ago, and the person disputed me. So here we are, Mac users, who inadvertently upgraded to macOS Catalina and are unable to run Captivate 2019 without rolling back to an early OS and then reinstalling. smh that Adobe won’t support Captivate or at least notify their Mac users in ample time. They can manage to take money out my account every month for any subscription, so I’m sure they could have equally sent me a notice about not upgrading to macOS Catalina because Captivate is not supported in this environment.

Adobe’s response to upgrade to “Creative Cloud” is irresponsible. Many of us work on Macs and are Adobe Captivate Specialist who use the software for clients and work. Adobe tell me how apps in Creative Cloud are going to solve our issue when we are paying for Captivate subscriptions? What you are suggesting is that we learn new software and payout more money.

Also this about 32 bit applications:

What apps don’t work with Catalina?

In macOS Catalina, you cannot run:

  • Older versions of our current apps
  • Apps we no longer support or develop

When you try to open a 32-bit app, you may receive an error message. The following table lists some common 32-bit Adobe apps. It is not a comprehensive list of all unsupported apps.

32-bit Adobe app
Status and alternatives

Captivate
Update scheduled, to be completed by end of fall 2019.

Creative Suite apps
No updates planned. We recommend that you upgrade to Creative Cloud.

Fuse
No updates planned. Find pre-made, free characters to use in your projects on Mixamo.

Presenter Video Express
No updates planned. We recommend moving to Adobe Captivate.

SpeedGrade
No updates planned. Certain features have been integrated into Premiere Pro, which is 64-bit compliant.

I have Captivate 2017 (which shows up as version “10.0.1.285” in the System Information app on the Mac.  It is listed as 64-bit.  Same with Captivate 8 and 9.  See https://www.dropbox.com/s/b9cdk8kot9ves1s/captivate.png?dl=0

Sure, but that will not make them compatible with the new Mac OS.

I never used the 32-bit version of Captivate since eons.

BUT!!!! Please do not install Catalina before a CP version is released that is compatible…. Mac’s new versions love to screw up applications.

What dos that mean? I am as upset as anyone about Samsung and Adobe (among others) not having their act together on 64-bit. There has been plenty of awareness, notice, and time.

How does Apple’s new version love to screw up applications though?
