publishing via video option – project with PPT slides and audio and video with table of contents
Trying to publish a project to an mp4 that has a table of contents, video, audio and PPT preso. I can see everything perfect in preview, I can publish in html and it all shows fine, I can publish an executable and it all shows fine but when I publish to video, it only shows the powerpoint preso and strips out my video, audio and table of contents when I play the mp4 file. Why does it work perfect 3 different ways but not when publishing to video as an mp4 file?
I contacted Adobe Support and they told me that I am asking it to do something that is outside of what they recommend? Huh? I am using only your settings? Why would you have an option if it was not recommended to use it?
Why are there audio settings if it is just going to play the powerpoint? I can do that in PowerPoint. (;
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Chad
There is a big difference between passive video output (mp4) and interactive output which is the real goal of eLearning tools like Captivate. A TOC is by definition interactive since it allows you to navigate freely to slides. Such an interactive item is impossible to have in a passive video format. Even if you create an interactive video, which is a format in between pure passive and fully interactive courses, you will never be able to publish to mp4 but you need to publish to HTML5. That is the core of interactivity, and I feel very sorry that the Adobe help couldn’t explain that clearly.
