I’ve heard that many government entities have very strict rules related to making sure learning modules can be accessed by people with disabilities. Has anyone worked on e-modules for the government that had to meet such accessibility criteria and would like to share your experience? Thank you.
I work at a university in the United States and YES it’s a big deal. Sadly I feel like at the university we are more reactive than proactive about this. The biggest issue I’ve encountered is I only see a selection of the courses going online as faculty can put their own courses online. This is the best resource I’ve seen though when it comes to accessibility, created by some great folks at Designers for Learning. I hope that helps.
You’re welcome. Not everyone has the opportunity to master English sufficiently to ask questions. Moreover Captivate is available in several languages, all customers should be supported. At this moment only this portal is available, and the Adobe forums, both dominated by US English.
It would be nice if you added the information about which country and government you are talking. This is an international community, and all can be very different depending on the country. More than often this cocmmunity seems to be ‘USA’ or ‘English only’. I even got insulting comments when posting threads, blogs in another language.
Thanks, Lieve. You are right. We often forget forums like this are much more international in nature. Yes, I referred to the U.S.
Insults about comments in other languages are totally out of place. I’m sorry to hear some people just don’t get it. Thanks for your response.
