I am primarily working with interactive tutorial videos in Captivate 2019.  The videos (*.mp4) I use in my projects often require corrections and updates, even after they have been made interactive. Is there a way to swap the video in a project without loosing all bookmarks and  overlays?

If you find your MP4 video in your Library, double click on it and update it from the video properties window with a new version of the video then your overlay and bookmark will remain. If however you delete the video from the slide and attempt to import a new copy onto the slide your bookmarks and overlay slides will be lost when you delete the original.

Interesting question,  didn’t try that out but my intuition tells me it will probably not be possible. Will see if I could try it, or hoping someone else answers it. Even if it will be possible, you’ll still need editing the ‘stop’ points, where you insert the overlay slides, and/or the bookmarks if you use them to create a menu. Are those software tutorials?

The problem will then be to define the different ‘stop’ points in the new video. you can replace the video same way as replacing an image. Not easy to have it with exactly the same duration however. That was the reason I asked what the topics of the videos are.

You clay slides, which are originally normal slides can easily be copied to the new video project file.
