Progress bar and skipping ahead

I am working on a project that consists primarily of videos that the learners need to watch to get credit. I want the progress bar to be available so they can back up and re-watch part of the video without having to re-watch the entire thing. However, I don’t want them to be able to skip ahead.

I have seen a project before that uses this method, but I don’t know how they did it. Any suggestions?

Thanks.

This means you can control the video. I would not use the default playbar, but use bookmarks in the video, which would enable you to create a menu allowing to navigate to those bookmarks. That means that you will not have a real playbar for scrubbing, but at least allow to go back to parts of the video. I described such a workflow in a blog post:

I used this approach, and also overlay slides (which you don’t need to create if you only want to have the bookmarks) in this interactive video:

Need more details here. Very important: how did you insert the videos, as event videos or as slide video. In the first scenario the video is playing independently of Captivate and you cannot control it.

Also, mention the version you are using as you can find under Help, About Captivate.

They are slide videos using Captivate 11 (without the update).

Thanks.
