Saved Adobe styles, fonts, and themes reverting back to Adobe defaults.
I am creating a template using Adobe fonts. I have saved the theme and the template however, when I open the project, the saved theme, or the template the project reverts back to the Adobe default. The project, template, and theme are saved directly on my Windows pc.
When this occurs, I have to reopen Adobe fonts and reset the styles in my project. Is there a way to prevent the fonts from reverting back to the default? I assume this is happening due to updates on my system or network but am unsure.
To be clear, I have set the styles to the desired font from Adobe fonts and saved the theme. Any help is greatly appreciated!
I’m not the original poster, but I am experiencing this same problem. I create my theme and save it to my PC. After a few days of working in Captivate I find that my theme colors and fonts are gone, reverted back to the Captivate defaults. This time, only a few of my theme slides are affected instead of all of them reverting. I’m using version 11.8.0.586. Any help on this is appreciated!
First of all I have to tell you that I still use version 11.5 since version 11.8 seems to have more quirks from what I read in all forums.
You post this to an older thread and 11.5 which was released later introduced big changes in the use of Themes. It is now possible to have multiple themes in one project, which can be great but also leads to lot of issues as I learned during multiple consultancy jobs. Did you read this post?

Based on your sentence: “..only a few of my theme slides are affected instead of all of them” I wonder if you checked if those affected slides are not using a different theme? Even if you saved a custom theme (in this version?) using the Themes menu, did you apply that theme to all slides from the big button Theme?
You always need to have the Creative Cloud app open when working with Captivate. Is that the case? If the theme you are using has been created in a previous version, did you save it in the recent version? There has been quite a lot changes for themes in 11.5.
Everything is saved in the 11.5 version and yes I find that I have to keep Creative Cloud open. The fonts have been assigned in the theme and the file is saved in my local files. If I go to edit the theme and I don’t have Creative Cloud open, it either says that my fonts are missing or it just reverts back to the default fonts.
Please, I am very much interested in all problems concerning themes, because I know that very little is included in the Help documentation and in the most common trainings offered. Don’t think you find somethings worthwhile in YouTube neither. Would like to detect the origin of your issues.
Templates (cptl) files are buggy since quite a number of versions. Do not use them. However themes are the way to go if you want design consistency. I suspect you are on the most recent version 11.5, since you talk about Adobe, not Typekit fonts How and where did you save the new theme, do you have Administrator rights, did you start from an existing theme and edit Theme colors, Theme fonts, default object styles and master slides? I have been blogging a lot about themes. Starting each project by the creation of a custom theme, I never experienced the problems you describe. Please give some more details about the workflows, and try out the theme in a new project, not created from a template.
Hi Lieve,
Sorry for not responding sooner. I am using the latest versions of Adobe Captivate. I have my theme and everything saved on my local Windows pc. I ended up on a chat with Adobe but the problem intermittently persists. Sometimes if I open Adobe Fonts in another file first and re-establish the link to my WebKit that then I can reset the theme. But sometimes I have to re-assign the theme and the styles to my desired fonts. I asked the Adobe Representative if this was a bug, and his reply was no that sometimes you just have to replace the fonts and styles manually.
