Drag and Drop Mastermind (Single Version)
I am currently a provider of technical training and support in the electronic manufacturing industry. My prior training and work experience as a teacher, network administrator, web design, and instructional design make me well prepared to design it, develop it, and deliver it. I am a father of five, a US Army veteran, and I enjoy playing the guitar as well as performing in local community theater.

This post is to serve as my submission for the eLearning Challenge #002.

It is my twist on the classic Mastermind game where you need to figure out the correct sequence of colors.

I chose to do this using power cords and electrical outlets as the drag and drop pairs for different colored lights.

You get to see how your lights line up when you flip on the light switch. See if you can figure out the correct sequence in as few tries as possible.

Currently – this is limited to a single sequence. Perhaps, one day, I will expand to create one that will randomly select the order of the colors.

Nonetheless, come and enjoy some of the possibilities of Drag and Drop activities!

It took me 37 attempts and I still can’t see the relationship between the colours, or a pattern in the sequence. I’d love to know! 🙂

There is no specific pattern – just a random order on my part. Each plug corresponds with a particular color and each outlet corresponds with a particular light position on top.

For example – red is plug number 2 – so if I take the number two plug (red) and place it in the very top outlet, the first light will come on as red but if I plug number 2 into the bottom outlet the last light in the row will come on as red. The key is to keep track and deduce the correct order in as few moves as possible. So once you have identified which plug is which color, you just need to figure out which order to plug them in.

It is not true Mastermind play as I have not offered a way for the game to track for you. That could be an enhancement.
