Chasing down a issue with a HTLM5 published course.  Simple interactions (next page) are not working until Notes widget is clicked on.  Once it is clicked on same page or downstream from the course, then the interactions become available again.  This seems to be a recent occurrence.  Has anybody else seen this behaviour?

May I repeat two questions?

  • Can you please log the full version number as mentioned under Help, About Captivate,
  • Did you insert Notes from the Learning Interactions or from the Widgets subfolder in the Gallery. Since you talk about this being an upgraded version, try to replace the present by the Learning Interaction Note.

Using CP2019
Simple interaction is next slide button
This was an older course that was built prior to Captivate 2019.  Users were reporting that interaction were not working.
Tested as published Scorm file in Cornerstone and cloud.scorm
I did not see notes widget flagged as issue in HTML5 (source is notes.swf file) I would think it would be flagged

So my conclusion is to remove the Notes widget to get the course operational again

Can you please provide some more details:

  • Which version of CP2019 do you use on which OS? Check under Help, About Captivate.
  • What are those ‘simple interactions’? You mention Next slide… but do you mean a custom button or the Next button on the playbar?
  • Did you insert the Note interaction from Learning Interactions or from the Widgets folder in the Gallery? In the last case, it will not be compatible with HTML output.
  • How did you test? Preview may not be sufficient, you need to publish and upload to a webserver. Local testing may also be not sufficient to see the real output.
