Creating a pro list to encourage captivate use.
Greetings eLearning community,
I have recently discovered the power of Captivate and has intrigued me. While I am still a learner myself, I am trying to encourage other teachers to learn the program as well, given instruction is looking to go blended.
would you mind helping me coming up with a list of pros that can help encourage teachers who are hesitant?
Captivate is a pretty easy to learn tool that is used for creating eLearning content such as software simulations, branched scenarios, and randomized quizzes. It will allow you to use a course over and over again without having to facilitate it (saves you time) especially if the student missed that days session. It will enable you to track students progress and results. 100% worth learning as eLearning is the way of the future.
Hello,
Welcome to the dark side, err I mean the world of eLearning authoring tools.
Here are some of the pros you may consider sharing:
- Autonomy- learning Captivate allows teachers to build their curriculum THEIR way.
- Learning curve- with all the tutorials out there, you shouldn’t have too much trouble getting started. Adobe has made it pretty easy
- Marketable skill- not to sway you and your fellow teachers completely out of education but I get asked by lots of teachers how to break into instructional design. Being able to create learning experiences with Adobe Captivate does open up the possibility of becoming an eLearning developer or can provide skills necessary to do consulting. Side money is always good right?!
