Hi
I have created a course by importing a powerpoint presentation but one of my pictures didn’t import.
I have copied the picture to the intro slide but it is in front of the text. I have tried to send the picture to the back but it doesn’t show the text. Any ideas?

Importing PPT slide is never a good start for an eLearning project. Reason: each PPT slide is converted into sort of a movie slide which replicates as close as possible the animations set up in the PPT. However you do not have control over individual objects. A PPT plugin is a better choice but will never have all the features of a ful-blown authoring tool.
Have no idea why a specific image is missing, maybe the format is not compatible? MS has not always very good coding, and image handling can be worse. That you cannot push the image to the back is due to the fact that the background is that ‘movie’ which I explained. Sorry about that….
It may look more work, but at the end could save time once you are used to it. You can extract assets from the PPR file – which is in reality a zipped folder – by changing its extension to zip and unzip it. Import the assets in the Library of a new Captivate file and recreate from start. Do not forget to set up a Theme with theme colors, theme fonts, object styles and master slides (theme can be reused in many projects). You will have full control now and access to all Captivate’s tool features.
