Using Captivate 11.5. Converted old Captivate 7 courses to 11.5 HTML5. Have replaced ALL flash objects but module will still not publish. I get “Publish Failed.”

Cannot see the text in any object unless I select it.

Have rebuilt the thing using a clean template and still get this error!

I’m having the same issue. Our LMS no longer properly supports SCORM 1.2, so have to republish all courses using xAPI. All but 2 were successful. The simplest 2 courses, built simply with each slide containing a screenshot and .wav file, get a Publish Failed error, with no explanation. I’ve tried publishing without zipping, publishing locally in an empty folder, tried unchecking any unsupported items (auto-play and pre-loader) in preferences, applying a Captivate default player, nothing worked. Anyone else having this issue?

That is very weird. Are you on Windows or Mac? Using the most recent version for your OS? If you are on Windows, do you ‘Run as Administrator’? Did you try to clear the cache, clear the Preferences? You have checked the HTML Tracker?  Screenshots and wav files probably are not the cause, but did you use slide transitions?

I am getting the same issue as well. Each slide consists only of a screenshot and an audio narration .wav track. No HTML5 compatibility issues listed in the tracker. I’m able to publish the same course with no errors in SCORM 1.2, but our LMS now only properly supports xAPI, so have to republish all courses as xAPI. I was able to successfully republish all other courses with more complicated Captivate elements included, however the simplest two courses get the publish failed error with xAPI. Has anyone else experienced this?

Are you on Windows? Do you run Captivate with the ‘Run as Administrator’ option checked? Is the Publish folder on your system, not on a networked or external folder?

Did you try to Clean the Preferences? Did you update the Theme to the present version? Are you on version 11.5.1.499 or are you on a Mac system?
