Hyperlink embedded within multi states don’t work

I have embedded Hyperlinks within several of multi states.

I subsequently display each state on click of the relevant button.  When clicking the button containing a hyperlink state, nothing happens.  If I remove the hyperlink, the state displays on button click.

Has anyone had this issue?  How can I resolve?

It is confusing, should have been a little bit more elaborate. You can add a Hyperlink in the Normal state (same as you can add an Effect to a Normal state). That will be functional. However you cannot insert another Hyperlink to other states, which is the reason that you don’t see the Hyperlink button in the State panel.  To make the confusion complete, if you duplicate the Normal state with the hyperlink, it will continue to be functional in that duplicate state. But you cannot edit that hyperlink to have a different action. That is what I use in my Close button solution with the hyperlink as trigger. You can have multiple states, and keep a close button in all the states, as long as you build the states on duplicates from the Normal state where you inserted that Hyperlink as Close button.

It is NOT possible to insert any interactive object in a state of a multistate object. A hyperlink is sort of a hybrid interactive object (have several blogs about using it that way), which is the reason you cannot insert it in the state of such an object. Have a look at:

I find it strange that the option to insert a hyperlink is available.

For example:  If I access the multistate via “State View”, the option to insert a hyperlink is not there; however, if I access the state I want  via “filmstrip view” and use the dropdown to access the state I want to embed a hyperlink, the option to do so is there.  I highlight the text and then embed the hyperlink. On preview, the click response for the button that contains the hyperlink does not work.  See attached.

Strange…
