Are you using a very old version of Captivate (before 9.0.1)? Why do you not use Guides instead of line objects to show the X and Y-axis? Your process is very time consuming, instead of using a couple of guides, with snap to guide turned on. Distribute horizontally is perfectly possible as well from the Align toolbar or the right-click men
Sorry about this critical note, but I felt back in version 6 or before where those very slow workflows were the only possibility.
