Best Way to Share eLearning for Review
I've been an eLearning designer and developer since 2005. In 2015 I started my own eLearning design company. I began creating Adobe Captivate video tutorials to help promote my business through my YouTube channel at https://youtube.com/captivateteacher. My intention with my YouTube videos was to attract attention from organizations looking for a skilled Captivate developer. This strategy proved successful as I've worked with clients worldwide, helping them build highly engaging eLearning solutions. In addition, my YouTube channel presented another benefit of attracting aspiring Captivate developers to seek me out as a teacher. I now offer online and onsite training on Adobe Captivate, teaching users the skills to build engaging and interactive learning.

Hi Brent,

Perhaps James Kingsley can speak to this. I assume you are referring to the latency issues related to the security measures that James was speaking about below. I’m assuming nothing has changed but her would know better than me.

I had to stop using RME because of the latency.  My SME’s kept reporting the latency as errors in the Captivate project – which when previewed in SCORM Cloud, were NOT evident, as the project worked flawlessly in SCORM Cloud.

It’s really a shame, because I really valued the ability of my SME’s to comment directly on the slide.   It was a really easy and useful way to review projects.  RME made it easy to perform edits as well as track edits when completed.  I miss it.

Thank you for your response!  I was very concerned that Captivate was causing the latency, and I couldn’t correct the issue.  I completely understand security measures required by certain industries, especially in this day and age!  I hope that this can be addressed without sacrificing performance, as it’s important for reviewers to see and “feel” the project exactly how it will be published in the LMS.  We were in the process of testing RME and have had positive responses from our reviewers, but I cannot justify a paid subscription if project interactions are sluggish and have latency in clicks.  It actually makes it “painful” to review projects with software simulations.

Hi Christo,

Thank you for your comment. This is an ongoing discussion within our ReviewMyElearning.com team.

The issue you are experiencing is due to our increased security measures. We take the security and confidentiality of your content very seriously. I won’t bore you with all the technical details but essentially each time a web browser requests any content from your course (html, media, JavaScript, etc) we check that the person is authorized to view that content. In addition we actively obscure the true location of your content. With other services it is possible for someone with only a little technical knowledge to determine the location of a course’s content and then be able to access it directly (and share it with others). For example all the Articulate Review content is exposed at articulateusercontent.com (you can view a course here without logging in).

Our team has been vigorously debating the pros/cons of this. We have a lot of government, financial, and pharmaceutical customers that need and expect this level of security.

In the near future we roll out a feature that enables users to make this choice themselves. They will be able to decide, on a course-by-course basis, if they want additional security (at the expense of a possibly slowed experience).

Again thank you for that feedback. We are actively working on a solution.

Has anyone noticed any significant performance issues when reviewing SCORM content uploaded to “Review My eLearning?”  I test performance in the HTML5 published SCORM project in any browser, and the project performs as designed.  When tested in Review My eLearning, software simulations, transitions to slides, as well as any interactions are significantly slower, and sluggish with latency of a few seconds per click.  Very disturbing to my reviewers.  I’ve had mouse click interactions that took over 3 seconds to ‘click’ when reviewing in Review My eLearning.  When browsing directly from the published file in IE or Chrome, all works as expected with no latency.
