Hello All,
I’m new to Captivate and i’m trying to load a MP4 that was created in Camtasia. When I import the video file it seems to be blurry. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong.

Thank you,

I do tons of these. Here is the procedure I take. Of course, you may have some different requirements than I do so take it for what it is worth.

Media >> Video >> File Path >> OK

I always use event video and select the file from my PC.

Inside of Camtasia I always publish as mp4 only – no controls – go with the 1080p option for better resolution.

My experience has been that it is better to resize down and it is when you resize bigger that things get blurry. So I always record full screen when possible. In Captivate, I resize the player down to 480×360 as that is what fits my projects best. Learners can watch the videos at the size they are or go full screen with the Captivate controls if they choose.

None of my videos are auto play or full screen by default.

Hope this is helpful in some way.

Was the resolution of the video changed? That is mostly the cause of the blurriness. You need to create the Camtasia video in exactly the size (resolution) you need it to be in Captivate. One of the reasons I no longer use Camtasia for that purpose but Video Demo is exactly that is so much easier to embed a Video Demo slide.

Moreover how did you embed the video: as event video or as slide video?
