How to do math or formula typesetting with CP2019?

Finally updated to Mac OS Catalina and lost the use of mathmagic for captivate – so, now exploring how to effectively typeset the mathematical formulas and equations….

A web  search and a search here hasn’t revealed any hints or leads – maybe I’m not asking the right question.

I’m looking for something like and equation editor, as with Word, that is within CP to permit proper creating and beautiful looking equations. I would rather avoid eps or pdf created elsewhere as they are rather a pain to deal with inside CP

anyone sort this out or have a better way to search for a solution?

cheers,

Fred

Did you find a solution, please?

Hi Lieve, didn’t really find a good solution… finally settled on using Lyx an open source Latex editor to create the equations and saving them to images for import. Very difficult/tedious to get sizing right, etc. So, avoiding the use of equations as much as possible. Even avoiding the use of Captivate given issue with it working on a Mac…  cheers, Fred

You are on Catalina, so I suspect you didn’t keep the much older version because it cannot run on that OS. I have an old system where I do keep old versions, that would enable me to reuse MathMagic. It only produced images, so you can import them directly in the most recent CP version.
