I have completed a “changing state” drag and drop interaction. It functions correctly. My issue is once the exercise is concluded it’s supposed to advance to the next slide but is failing to do so in Preview mode. I have attached a screenshot of the Drag & Drop inspector – Actions menu to show the current settings.
OK, some possible causes eliminated. Did you check the On Exit event? Especially in the Quick Start Projects I often see the action on that event set to Pause, which could explain why the playhead is not going to the next slide. Personally I rarely use that event, but you could have been inspired by it
Similar cause: check the used master slide, is there no interactive project with Pausing?
I am out of ideas. Can you try to replicate the issue in a new project? You can use the assets from the older one by opening it as an external Library.
Reason for my suggestion: I start to suspect that the slide or the project is corrupted. It could also be Captivate, which would lead to cleaning the Preferences. But first want to find out if it is not the slide or the project.
Which Preview method did you use? If you want to publish to HTML5 and it is a non-responsive project, you need to use only F11, Preview HTML in Browser.
D&D slides pause at 1.5sec. If you have a long slide timeline (maybe because of slide audio), the present command ‘Continue’ can take a while, since all the frames after 1.5secs need to be passed. You can change ‘Continue’ to ‘Go to Next Slide, or move the pausing point more towards the end of the slide.
