How can I stop disappearing next and back buttons.
I have custom Next and Back buttons in a Captivate 2019 project. I am having problems with the buttons disappearing when I return to the page where I initially clicked the Next or Back button. When I move the mouse pointer over the location of the missing button, it reappears. It seems the page is remembering that the button had been previously click on the page and is for some reason not displaying it but it is holding onto the location of the button. The mainly occurs when I return to the page using either the table of contents links or using the opposite navigation button. I have tried using advanced actions to hide and then show the buttons when the page opens, but that does not work. Then I tried grouping the buttons and the hiding and showing the group when the page opens. That did not work. The buttons are set to show for the entire slide.
Does anyone have any idea how to make the buttons always be visible regardless of when they were last selected?
I suspicion that it may be a cookie problem with MS Edge. I don’t know how to find the list of cookies so I can try to find the ones specific to Captivate and delete them. I have too many programs that are password dependent, so if I remove all cookies, I will have dozens of logons that I will have to do again.
I am on 11.5.1.499 and have the same problem with a responsive project. Next and back buttons created from smart shapes. Work perfectly on the majority of slides but i’ve got a slightly different slide layout and the buttons will not load in preview or publish. This means that slides do not pause as required. There are no advanced actions and the buttons are not set to hide. The temporary fix is to add a button to the slide then remove it. As i’ve seen today after a few days the fix no longer works and the buttons disappear again.
Repeating my question: can you please tell which exact version number you use? Do you put the custom buttons on Master slides or do you time them for the rest of the project? I always use custom buttons, never use the playbar and cannot remember when I had that issue appearing for me. Beware: I do use Captivate daily.
Which exact version of Captivate are you using? You find the full number under Help, About Captivate.
Do you really have a custom Back and Next button on EACH slide? I never had that experience at all, but use them either for most slides from a master slide or timed for the rest of the project. You talk about ‘advanced actions’? Please explain, and show those actions.
It looks like you have a visited state for those buttons, which is empty but that seems very weird.
