Hi there! I’m learning Adobe Captivate this summer and I’ve been seeing posts on both Captivate 2019 and Captivate Prime. Can someone explain the key differences between the two and if there are any OS requirements? Thanks in advance!

Hi there, apologies for barging in on your posts but I am looking into this software too and I wonder if you can answer me a question please?

Basically, I am an existing video producer and I am looking to develop into this. A question I have been asked is can the results of the questions be downloaded to use as analysis?

Sorry for what seems like a slow response. The post indicates “3 days ago” but I only received the notification not even 8 hours ago.

Yes, you should be able to view the results but you will need to pair your projects with a Learning Management System (LMS) by turning on the reporting and uploading the resulting zip/SCORM file  to fully take advantage of that capability.

That said, you will want to investigate the level of reporting capabilities of the LMS that you use in conjunction with your eLearning projects as well.

Hope this helps.

In a nutshell – Adobe Captivate is the authoring tool and Captivate Prime is the delivery tool.

Captivate is for the developer to create all of the eLearning. There are both Windows and Mac versions.

Captivate Prime is where all the eLearning is managed and where all the students will engage with your content.
This is browser based and would require an Internet connection. There is a Prime app for students on mobile devices where the content can be downloaded for offline consumption but of course would require Internet access to begin with.

Hope that helps.

To put it simply, Adobe Captivate is a software to create courses for an Learning Management System (LMS). Adobe Captivate Prime is an Learning Management System (LMS) service to host your Courses designed with Captivate. The two are different software’s. One creates the courses, the other makes them “dance”.

You can use Adobe Captivate to create a course for most any LMS’s, likewise you can use Adobe Captivate Prime to host any course, even if not created with Adobe Captivate. But, the two together do flawlessly seam.
