I have created a fillable form using Adobe Acrobat Pro, and placed a submit form button on the page. I have no issues getting it to load in preview, all the forms fields are working, even the clear form button. But for some reason, I cannot seem to get the document to submit. Ideally, I’d prefer to have the data sent to my email, but Adobe Acrobat seems to want to launch a web based mail or application. How can I get this to work so it can be emailed to me, instead of having it being send to a network folder?

Anybody have a work around or tips? Greatly appreciate any help!

My Question is related to this. I have several PDF fillable forms and am hoping there is a way to pass the completed form data  (the form is embedded in captivate) to captivate or directly to the Moodle student account.

Ive found some ways to pass captivate quiz results into a google form so I’m hoping this kind of transfer is possible as well!

When you set up the Acrobat form to email the form it will only use the client-side email application. Since you run an Adobe Captivate project within a browser it will default to a web-based email application.

That makes a lot sense. Is there an alternative to then just have the form submit to an online folder, say to Onedrive? The goal is to get the form results with some type of notification that it has been submitted. But the results need to be on a printable PDF format that can be downloaded and saved, and/or printed, which is why I used Acrobat. Creating an online form submission did not seem to be able to do what I need, as the submission email will not give me the particular format I need. I have spent 6 hours on this already just trying to get this to work, and I am about as frustrated as I can be.

I love your tutorials BTW, great stuff!

I’ve never found a way to do what you’re describing from a clientside computer. It’s something that is prevented for security reasons. You will always have to go through the client’s email application. Alternatively you would need a web form with a backend web server with the appropriate software to store the data in a database (beyond my knowledge).

Related to this, I have a PDF form in captivate on a Moodle site. Is there a way I can get the form results to either post to captivate and then on to Moodle? Or perhaps bypass Captivate and post straight to the student’s record in Moodle? It would be great not to have to recreate a bunch of finicky forms in Captivate if I don’t have to. 🤞🏽
