Pin item to Microsoft Windows 10 Start Menu – a simple system administration task is captured with Adobe Captivate 2019
This simple system administration task is captured with Adobe Captivate 2019. The video has been created for students studying for their ICT30118 Certificate III in Information, Digital Media and Technology. More specifically, it has been created for our industry exemplar Women in ICT Pathways program, which is aimed at increasing women into the field of ICT. This program has resulted in an more diverse cohort, with 36% of Level 3 students identifying as female, in 2020 (up from 17% in 2019 and 9% in 2018).
Hope you don’t mind offering some tips, and asking some questions? I have created tons of software simulations with Captivate in almost two decades. Lot of them were used by students in a university college.
Not sure if you used Video Demo of the (old) software simulations published to mp4. I see a lot of highlight boxes added, but that can be in both situations. Whenever possible, please add audio to the tutorial! It is the best enhancement for the majority of learners, as I learned from my students. In the case of software simulations they also claimed that interactive simulations (training/assessment) were a lot more engaging than just watching a passive video, but that means you would need a LMS of course. Even an interactive video is to preferred, with the same restriction.
Just adding some static objects like graphics may lead to a more professional look in case of Video Demo. In this case that could be showing the different steps. And a short summary at the end…. All possible both in software simulations and in video demo?
