Hi, I’m trying to record a video with a timer in it. I’ve added the timer as an interaction but when I try and publish the slides as a video the timer disappears. How do I keep the timer when published? Thanks.

As you said, the timer in the interaction section is just an interaction. So, when you record a video that has not interaction capabilities it does not properly as you expected. Video is just a video. If you want to use interactions you should publish your courses as a course not a video.
Any learning interaction will only show up if you publish to an interactive movie (HTML5 or SWF). If you publish to a passive video, all interactive features are always lost (including CC).
