The tutorial takes you through steps to convert an image or a shape into a button in adobe captivate.
Something you may ignore: there is a BIG difference between using a bitmap image and a SVG as button! Moreover Shape buttons can be filled with a bitmap image. Difference between a shape button filled with a bitmap image and a bitmap image used as button: the first can have a defined object styles, the second not.
Shape buttons and SVGs used as buttons are my two favorites. The first because they are very flexible and can have a style. I have presented webinars only on Shape buttons, which appeared with CP5, 8 years ago. SVGs because they are the only type of buttons which can be limited to the image instead of the surrounding bounding box. All games created recently appearing on my blog use that feature. The third type of button is an old type: Transparent buttons. Why? Because so far you can only use old types on quiz and score slides. Transparent buttons are the most flexible of the old types, because you can make them look exactly like shape buttons, they have the same formatting possibilities (Fill, Stroke…).
All button types are explained in detail in this blog post.
