How do you add a results slide to a Captivate assessment if one doesn’t populate automatically?

I’m coming to Captivate from Storyline and do not see where you can insert a results slide for an assessment. In Storyline it is really easy to do this — like two steps.

Where do you do this in Captivate? I created a software simulation with a couple of steps and specified that I wanted to include those slides in a quiz.

However, the results slide did not populate automatically and I do not see where to insert it.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

Hi

My query is slightly different. Please forgive me if I am in the wrong place.

My question requires the user to make three clicks to complete the answer. Is his possible on one question slide and if so how?

It would be better to start a new discussion, because:

  • It is indeed totally different from the original question. The user never even returned to see the answer.
  • What do you mean by ‘3 clicks’? Do you want them to have 3 attempts, or to give 3 answers?  The last is done by using a Multiple Choice Question with multiple correct answers.

Captivate is completely different and comparing with another tool is just wasting time. Sorry about that short ranting. I don’t expect a powerful desktop publishing application like InDesign to look and have the same UI as Word, nor for Photoshop to look like Paint.

Whether a results slide is automatically added to a Captivate project depends on the type of scored items you have:

  • If you have at least one regular quiz slide (normal SCORM types of questions) the results slide is added automatically, no steps needed.
  • If the scoring is only attached to scored interactive objects, the results slide is not inserted automatically BUT the scores are included in the same quizzing system variables as the questions. In that case you can add the Results slide using Quiz Preferences, Settings, option ‘Show score slide at the end of the quiz’. That ‘at the end’ in this case will mean after the last scored object whether it is a Question slide, an interactive object which is scored, a D&D slide set up as scored quesstion.

You have a good overview of all scored items in your course in the Advanced Interaction panel (under Project and Window menu or with F9). More info about this panel in:

BTW: in software simulations, Training or Assessment mode, two types of interactive objects are added, click boxes and Text Entry Boxes. Both can be scored or not.
