Closed Captions for Slide Video in Your Adobe Captivate Project
I've been an eLearning designer and developer since 2005. In 2015 I started my own eLearning design company. I began creating Adobe Captivate video tutorials to help promote my business through my YouTube channel at https://youtube.com/captivateteacher. My intention with my YouTube videos was to attract attention from organizations looking for a skilled Captivate developer. This strategy proved successful as I've worked with clients worldwide, helping them build highly engaging eLearning solutions. In addition, my YouTube channel presented another benefit of attracting aspiring Captivate developers to seek me out as a teacher. I now offer online and onsite training on Adobe Captivate, teaching users the skills to build engaging and interactive learning.

As ever, a really helpful video, is it more common to resize and put captions beneath the video or to overlay them? Thanks.

I usually overlay my closed captions on the slides but try my best to reserve space on my slide designs so I don’t cover up anything that contributes to the learning. If something that is there purely for aesthetic purposes, I don’t spend too much time worrying about that.

This is a great video, Paul.  Thank you for pointing out the weakness in captioning – with accessibility a priority for most of my clients, this is a lot of extra (and in today’s tech world, a lot of unnecessary) work. I need to remember to factor this in for my projects captivate projects (I’m used to uploading my txt files into Lectora).

Thanks for sharing this – you make it look easy!
