Has anyone tried using Adobe softwares on Windows OS configured using Parallel desktop for Mac. Specs :

  • Macbook Pro 8GB Ram, 2.7 Ghz i5
  • Parallels desktop edition (basic)
  • Windows 10 installed on Bootcamp
  • Bootcamp configured on Parallels desktop

The issue I am facing is that whenever I work in a coherence mode in Parallels, Captivate does not resizes to its maximum and keeps on hanging (cant take a screenshot as its OS within OS)

Hi anandarora, I use captivate in that environment for several reasons. I also found that using it in coherence mode can be an issue, especially with multiple monitors. Usually a restart of the VM and unplugging any external monitors helps. It can be bit buggy at times but I have also found the windows version plays nicer with the powerpoint files we’ve had to import to Captivate.

Are you using Parallels because you have a Mac and wish to capture Windows software simulation? It’s been my experience that running any software under this situation will reduce its ability to perform well. This doesn’t solve your problem but this is just general advice. If this is holding you up from producing it might be worth borrowing and installing your Windows Captivate license on an actual Windows machine, even if it’s only temporary. If you are not capturing Windows software you might want to consider running the MacOS version of Captivate instead.
