Have created lesson with long video.  Need to ensure that all of the video is viewed but there are no Quiz questions associated with the video.  Want to be able to post completion to the results DB without including questions.

Have included the Quiz Results page and defined to track viewing 100% of pages but no Quiz Pass fail.

Will not respond to the Continue button.  Email results are sent satisfactorily.

Any suggestions?

One suggestion is to use slide video and not allow the Next button to appear until you reach the end of the slide where the video resides. This way you can ensure that the user has, at the very least, sat through the duration of the video. Keep in mind that without any assessment of the learner’s ability to retain the knowledge or skills taught in the video, simply sitting in front of a video for X minutes doesn’t prove that the learner has even paid any attention to it. This is especially true in today’s world of so many other things to distract us. Your learner could simply be texting on their phone while the video plays.

Was the video inserted as event video or as slide video? Even video plays independently from Captivate’s Timeline and cannot be controlled (except by Event detecting using JS). Slide video can be controlled.

Completion criteria for a LMS are slide-based. If you have a video on a slide, reporting will not detect at which frame the video was left.

As for forced viewing, this is not at all a good practice because it will never prove that the learner has learned anything.  Well… from the very low learning efficiency of most eLearning courses posted here, it seems not to be important for most developers. Sorry for that sarcastic note, but my ‘eternal learner’ mind is often insulted, because there is no respect for the learner.
