Captivate can’t play video with transparent background.

But…

It can play animated GIFs.

1. Make an animation in After Effects

2. Export animation (render in AE) as PNG sequence with alpha channel

3. In PhotoShop load PNG sequence, 25fps, save it as PSD

4. Save as… GIF

5. GIF must be in format:

– Palette: Local (Perceptual)

– Colors: 256

– Froced: Primaries

– Transparency: Checked

– Mate: none

– Dither: none

– Interlaced: Checked

6. Load GIF in library. It should be in Media folder.

Known limitations. Vertical resolution max 1024px, duration 6s.

Yeah, I agree with Lieve, I have used Animated gifs that lasted much longer than 6s.

Captivate don’t want to load longer GIFs in media folder with this setup.

But, if you select Forced from primaries to none, you can load longer GIFs.

Why do you say limitations to 6secs? I have created much longer animated GIFs.
