Easily Add PDFs to Your Adobe Captivate eLearning
I've been an eLearning designer and developer since 2005. In 2015 I started my own eLearning design company. I began creating Adobe Captivate video tutorials to help promote my business through my YouTube channel at https://youtube.com/captivateteacher. My intention with my YouTube videos was to attract attention from organizations looking for a skilled Captivate developer. This strategy proved successful as I've worked with clients worldwide, helping them build highly engaging eLearning solutions. In addition, my YouTube channel presented another benefit of attracting aspiring Captivate developers to seek me out as a teacher. I now offer online and onsite training on Adobe Captivate, teaching users the skills to build engaging and interactive learning.

Hey Paul, when did Adobe change the publish protocol and package the PDF file with the published file? Does this work for an URL link to a file? For forced download as well?

I’m not sure if it was 2017 or 2019. I noticed that I no longer had to package the PDF after publishing sometime with 2019 release but it may have come out earlier. It only puts the PDF in the library if it’s a local file. I don’t believe it downloads PDFs from the web.

I have several cases where i add additional files, like documents or templates that the student can download. I point to local files, but I used to have to change the local file url to be just the name of the document and I had to package it after I published my file. I am going to test this now!

Yup, that’s what I used to do as well. Captivate 2019 will do this for you now.
