Failure message not being shown on Drag and Drop

Hi Folks!

I am working on an e-learning project with a DnD slide where I have 2 drop targets and 1 drag source. The On Success action is working fine (i.e. taking to next slide) while the issue lies in On Failure action, it does not take me to the slide I want to.

I tried achieving it using Execute Advanced Actions, Show and Hide Failure message, but nothing seems to work out. I would really appreciate the help from the forum as I am unable to proceed with my work.

Regards,

Vaishnavi

I really think you all should start marking some of these as answers so Paul and Lieve get their points too!

Thank you Lieve for the quick response. I have given just a single attempt and the slide is used for Knowledge Check purpose and therefore whenever the user drags into a wrong drop target I want the On Failure action to be performed which is the content slide.

Attached is the screenshot of what I am trying to do.

Vaishnavi

Can you have a look at your screenshot? Something is wrong because Infinite Attempts is still checked, although the number of attempts is set to 1?

Moreover, there is no Failure action (Last Attempt). There is only a Failure caption. This is due to the fact that you have Infinite Attempts. Please show a correct screenshot.

You may also have missed my suggestion to check the Quiz Preferences on having “Allow Backwards movement'” being checked if the content slide is before the D&D slide.

Your confusion is probably linked to a bug in D&D slides (which I have been reporting since many versions): the Failure action is not a Failure action, but a Last Attempt action, same as for Quiz slides.

You didn’t mention the number of Attempts you have for that D&D slide. If you have only one attempt, the Last Attempt action is indeed a Failure action. It would have helped if you had posted a screenshot of the Setup of the D&D slide.

You talk about a Jump to … command. Is the D&D slide used as a Quiz slide or a Knowledge Check slide? If it is a Quiz slide,  and the slide you want to jump to is a content slide situated before the D&D slide, check Quiz Preferences. The option ‘Allow Backwards movement’ needs to be checked.
