How do I add closed caption to audio within a state and or object?  When I click on the audio in properties/options the closed caption tab is not available.

Is it possible to add an .srt file to my interactive video in Adobe Captivate?

You can add closed captioning to any slide video (interactive video is slide video) but not by importing a srt-file.

Closed Captioning is traditionally for items that are played in sync with your timelines such as slide audio and slide video. When I deal with items like multi-state objects like the ones I use in a click to reveal, I make sure to include the text in another form so as to be inclusive of folks who have a hearing disability.

The normal Closed Captioning workflow is only possible for Slide audio, never for object audio. And adding audio to a state in a multistate object is the same as Object audio.

If you want Closed Captioning, you’ll need to look for another solution than using a multistate object.  Alternative is to create subtitles in a manual way: add a text container with the audio text in a second multistate object. When changing the state in the first object, change also the state in the second multistate object. If the learner doesn’t need CC, you can hide the second multistate object.
