How to Stop Project from Playing When User Not on Screen?
(3)

Hi everyone,

I’m working on an e-learning project and one of the requirement is to ensure that the module will be paused when user is not on the main screen (user change to other tabs/browser).

Is it possible to do this in Captivate? I’m at a dead end. Hope that the community can help.

Thank you.

Lieve – what are your thoughts on this? I haven’t explored this yet. Is it possible on Captivate?

Not AFAIK. It would also probably be violation of the privacy laws in Europe. And what would happen if an eLearning course IS opening extra files in another tab? Or when a learner has issues with a specific browser (like IE not supporting enough HTML5) and switches to another browser for that reason.

Personally I would NEVER use such an approach, teaching starts not with distrust but with trust. There are many ways to help a learner checking if he did learn something, not this dictatorial approach.  Eternal teacher here…
