Hi Everyone,

I am currently looking into changing careers and moving towards Instructional Design.  I wanted to start doing some research and fell upon this discussion board.  Just looking for any advice, tips, tricks on where I might being.  Just trying to not get too overwhelmed and discouraged, but looking for anyone that can point me in a direction on where to start.

Thank you!

Marney

LinkedIn Learning has a lot of different courses on adult learning, instructional design, etc.  You may want to check them out.

You will get many different answers to your question.

In my personal view,  each learning adventure will be different. Each trainee comes with a different background, skills and has perhaps also different goals. For that reason I have decided to provide only personalized learning, never canned learning.

You can find lot of free tutorials, in this portal and in other social media. Laying out guidelines for those tutorials is very difficult. A curator/coach is the best way but will not be free.  Do you have pedagogical skills, IT skills? Did you take online courses and judged them useful or not? You may have already many personal ideas.

Personally I never bought any book, nor followed any training to learn Captivate. I have decades of experience in teaching and in coaching all types of software applications. The best way to learn Captivate for me was to try to find solutions for questions in Captivate forums everywhere. Results can be seen in my answers, on my blog.
