How to stop slide from advancing upon clicking slide background.
I have a Captivate project that was converted from some PowerPoint slides (pretty vanilla stuff).
I have created a button to advance the slide, which works; however, whenever I click anywhere on the background it advances the slide.
How can I remove this functionality? I ONLY want to advance the slide when clicking the button I have designated as the next slide button.
I tried having each slide pause on enter; however, clicking the background just resumes the slide.
There are two types of navigation you can select when importing a PowerPoint file to Captivate. The option to have the user click anywhere to proceed to the next slide was probably selected. This adds a Click Box covering your entire slide. You can delete this Click Box if you want users to only use the button you’ve provided. Alternatively, you can import the PowerPoint presentation again but with the option to have slides automatically advance selected.
Hi.
I need to watch what I suggest here as there are others that have more experience and can provide you more guidance.
But, I have tried to convert from PPT and had the same issue. My understanding from reading other posts on the community is that the import from PPT feature is not a great one and the recommendations from others was to try to recreate the file with Captivate.
You can take elements from the PPT and add them to your Captivate slides, but you have to watch that as well. For example, when copying text, you will need to copy the text out of the text box and paste into a new text box on Captivate and not copy the entire text box itself as it creates an image of that text – and you cannot manipulate it.
I am sure others will post soon and provide you with more experienced recommendations. I do my best, but I am also still learning.
Hope this helps some.
Thanks
