I want to add a Search tool to an Adobe Captivate project like the one in the ToC feature but I want the Search to be independant of the ToC. Is this can be possible or a similar alternative. The project is a stand alone and needs to be used offline and online.

I have seen your question in the Adobe forums, where Rod Ward has answered.

Confirmation: there is no search tool for a published course (there is in the developing environment).

An eLearning course is not only text, it would also be very complicated to have such a tool functioning correctly in a real engaging eLearning course where interactivity, audio, video, animations are much more important than just text.  Hope you understand what I mean.  For Text only the TOC search is OK. It is a bit astonishing that elearning courses are still mostly seen as just digitizing text books, where search tools are very important.  I can imagine an elearning course without text, but not without audio, interactivity, images…. The search tool would need to be able to find those as well which is possible with alt-tags for images, with CC for audio (and video) but what about interactivity?
