Hi,

I’m an experienced Articulate 360 user, but new to Captivate 2019.

Is there an easy way to change the state of the Next button to Normal when the media (video) completes? I can’t seem to find the right settings.

Thank you in advance,

Victoria

Try to add both buttoms and change the time indicator, so when video is over the normal buttom will appear.

The default state of any button is Normal.  How did you set it to another state when the video is playing? It may be simply a terminology confusion, because that is often the case when switching from another tool. Maybe you just want to make the button active at the end of the video? Jakob’s question is relevant, because Event video is unsynchronized with Captivate’s Timeline. That results in needing to detect the end of the video by JS. Whereas Slide video is synchronized and there are Captivate workflows to detect its end.

You can find some more clarification about Captivate’s custom and inBuilt states in this blog:

Sorry, that link just took me to a list. Is there a specific article where I can find the answer?

I think this thread was disabled because same question was posted twice, two days in a row. Now I see that it has not been disabled but that my link got crippled.

Since long time I asked here (not in the Adobe forums, where I am moderating) to give the same notifications to visitors as in other forums.  I got the confirmation that it is the case, but now learned in your other thread that it is still not as expected, which makes me feel very sad. Try to understand: yesterday I have helped multiple users  (around 25 answers) in the default Adobe forum for Captivate and several answers were marked as correct and/or helpful. This portal has a lot less questions, but when an answer is within my skills I answer here as well. It is not very rewarding, because more than 9 out of 10 answers are never acknowledged, and I suspected this was due to the notification issue, which should have been solved.

If you come back next time, please click the Discussion button in the top menu bar. You need to go down to the Recent discussions, and at its bottom – if you don’t see your discussion immediately –  you have a Load more button. You can also open your profile to find any activity you did.

Here is another try with the link:

Not sure it will be preserved this time.

I went to the Media menu, browsed to my computer, chose an MP4 and clicked OK.
