Now that Phonegap has been abandoned without giving us a clear solution to publish our projects to .apk.. What options do we have ?? I joined Captivate years ago for the ability to publish to android .. Any solutions would be appreciated.. Im not a code professional , so the most basic solution if you have ..thanks in advance.
Further to my earlier comments. I suspect that the next major release of Adobe Captivate will discontinue support for older technologies like SWF publishing, the ability to import SWF files into your projects, and yes, the ability to publish to PhoneGap.
I’m not sure if any of the descriptions you’ve given (divorced, abandoned) are accurate for the Phonegap situation. Here is a page that explains the current situation: https://blog.phonegap.com/update-for-customers-using-phonegap-and-phonegap-build-cc701c77502c
If you read the content from the link above you will see that PhoneGap will remain free and open-sourced, however, it will not be actively developed. Gradually, as iOS and Android operating system updates are released, the PhoneGap tooling will become incompatible with the latest version of Apache Cordova.
I did a little test shortly after your post and while I doubt I could sign up for a new PhoneGap account, my existing account seemed to work fine for creating an Android app of my course.
