Best tool for course work??

I am creating a course for Health and Wellness at the Center for Workforce Development at my University.  My question is will Captivate be feasible to create some of the course work even if the department doesn’t have the full program.  I am a graduate student working as an intern as part of my Master’s of Instructional Technology.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

You would need just your license, because once you get the course done, just uploading it at the LMS of your university would be enoguh, give a try, as you just learning how to use the sowfware I would recommend to start with a power point presentation and then, use the same info into the captivate software. have a nice day.

1+ this answer. Scorm compliant or HTML 5 can be plugged into an LMS regardless of authoring tool.

I designed some training using Articulate that was Scorm compliant that my Captivate-using employer was able to view with their LMS

You can export courses created in Captivate to formats such as HTML5 and SCORM.  This should allow you to publish your content.  As others have said, it is a good idea to use a trial version to try it out and see if this meets your needs.

If you do not have access to the software, then it becomes a challenge to use what you do develop for the long term.

If you do end up purchasing the license, it opens it up for longer term use by learners. Your learners do not need a licence to view what you develop by the way.  Just thought I would add this in. I have discussed this with others that are not familiar with the software and thought users would need it as well, so not sure if this was understood or not.

The education licence is a good option as you will have it long term.

Captivate is able to do many things and with the free trial you can go in and experiment. Worth a shot.

You could use a trial version, but that will limit the availability of published courses to 30 days.

Why not look for an educational license?
