Hello,
I would like to embed a 3D image into my course, and allow the user to rotate/zoom the render and adding hotspots for the learner.. Just wondering if any one has done that in the past or you can point me in the right direction on how to do that. I am not sure which file format will work best. I am working on a safety training and I would like the learner to rotate the machine around to discover and learn.
Thank you,
Faye
In the present situation, only hotspots on a 360° image or video are possible. In that case you can simulate on a desktop/laptop system to move in the image to all directions, and have inserted hotspots to trigger a limited amount of actions. There is no way to move ‘around’ a single 3D object. I hope you understand my explanation, bit difficult without showing what I mean. In collaboration with one of my trainees, we did use this feature to take a 360° static image of a technical room in the clinic, to use it to give information about all the devices in that room. Same is possible when using a 360° video, but it is a bit more complicated because you need to use the timeline in that case. I do use a Ricoh Theta V camera to create images and videos, but there are other cameras available.
One of the blogs I posted about this:
