I have a question about creating a quiz in Adobe Captivate. How to publish a quiz when flash player is no longer supported? I created a simple hot spot quiz that I would like to publish but flash player is no longer supported. What is the process for creating a quiz with right and wrong answers that will load the results somewhere? I would prefer google forms/sheets if possible since our company uses that format.

The fact that Adobe Flash Player is not supported is really complicating a lot of what I do in general. I’m following this for the helpful comments!

I have the same question. My project includes quiz questions, but with .swf gone, I cannot figure out how to publish it to a non-LMS server and keep the viewer interaction. I’ve tried the settings from the screenshot in the previous comment, but it does not allow the viewer to click answers and the Submit button. There must be a way to do this, but I cannot for the life of me figure it out, even though I’ve spent hours trying. Thanks.

As I explained in my first comment, there is NO connection whatsoever between SWF player having ended and question slides. If you have issues with the interactivity on the quiz slides, that means something else is awry, but it is not linked with publishing to HTML output.  For a LMS you need to turn on Reporting in Quiz Preferences, but since you don’t use a LMS you have to be sure not to set up Reporting so that you can publish to a normal output folder instead of a SCO.

Since several years Captivate supports output to HTML5. Just use that output, not the one to SWF and you will have a course without any need for the Flash player. I haven’t published to SWF since 4-5 years.  Have a look at the attached screenshot of the Publishing dialog box you’ll need for that type of publishing.

Some features are not supported for HTML output, but lot of features are only for HTML output. You can use the HTML Tracker under the Project menu to check for possible incompatibilities.

Normally you use the courses in a LMS which takes care of managing the user accounts and their gradebooks. You can also set up an internal server, and if you Google you’ll find some workflows to publish to spreadsheets as well, but they’ll need programming skills.
