The educational process contains several elements, the most important of which is the learning assessment process, So I will try to present the types of assessment and suggest a way to implement them in Adobe Captivate.
1. Diagnostic Assessments:-
It happens before the learning process, without grades, it gives the trainer pre knowledge of the learners. The best thing if you can design a course for 3 levels, beginner, intermediate, and advanced level depending on the level of learners.
How we can apply in Adobe Captivate
Include some questions at the beginning of the course or make Mind maps or thinking maps, by giving the topic and asking the learner to give titles related to your topic?
2. Formative Assessments
It happens while learning, it is small, and direct, helps the trainer to know if the learner knows the subject or not, it mainly focuses on students’ learning process.
How we can apply in Adobe Captivate
Make one question during the delivery of the small subject without grades, then give feedback
3. Summative Assessment
Occurs at the end of the courses, covers all the course objectives, and evaluates if the goals achieved or not. Assigns grades to students.
How we can apply in Adobe Captivate
Suggest to finalize the course with set of question with grades for each topic/subtopic – at least one question.
Interesting you proposed the summaries of the assessments from a learning perspective. I initially revert to thinking about formative and summative assessments from an ID standpoint and how I assess the effectiveness of the learning experience. You’ve definitely given me some food for thought, thanks for sharing this piece!
