Captivating eLearning Challenge #001
I've been an eLearning designer and developer since 2005. In 2015 I started my own eLearning design company. I began creating Adobe Captivate video tutorials to help promote my business through my YouTube channel at https://youtube.com/captivateteacher. My intention with my YouTube videos was to attract attention from organizations looking for a skilled Captivate developer. This strategy proved successful as I've worked with clients worldwide, helping them build highly engaging eLearning solutions. In addition, my YouTube channel presented another benefit of attracting aspiring Captivate developers to seek me out as a teacher. I now offer online and onsite training on Adobe Captivate, teaching users the skills to build engaging and interactive learning.

I decided to no longer talk about why this doesn’t exist and start the first unofficial Captivating eLearning Challenge (I just invented that name). Each week, one of us will put out a challenge to the eLearning community to create a solution to a problem. Anyone can come up with a solution. Create a new post with the published version of their Captivate solution using the + Add Captivate project feature. Copy the link to your post and place it in the comments of this challenge post here. Each of us can vote on what we think is the best solution to the challenge by ♥ liking that comment/link. Whoever gets the most likes in the week wins that week’s challenge and bragging rights for the week. The winner will create a new post the following week with a new challenge. Let’s see how long we can keep it going. I will start us off with this week’s challenge.

Challenge #001

Create a quiz results slide that includes dynamic content that changes depending on the results of your elearning. Include images, sound, whatever it takes to make the standard quiz results slide a little more exciting. Bonus points go to the person who figures out a way to have more than just a pass or fail result.

These were member attempts at trying to get some challenges started.

Adobe is now doing the showcase challenges.

I believe the submission shall be found here when it goes live.

Challenge #001

I tried to spice this up by making a traditional multiple choice quiz more fun in terms of selecting answers.

The results slide shows different graphics based on your score. I kept it rather short since it is the concept that mostly being shown.

Greg, I enjoyed taking this fun entertaining quiz. I particularly liked the motion path of the vehicle to go towards the answer.

Hello Paul !… Thanks for this brilliant idea !… Unfortunatly, I don’t have time to make a new project from scratch…

So I use one of my existing projet :

http://soutien67.fr/francais/activites/homophone/Les-Homophones-E_01/index.html

What changes from the original result slide :

  • I select the variables to be displayed (I think I use one of your video to achieve this !)
  • I add a visual scoring system (The stars) (For this I thank Lieve !)
  • I add my “Dirlo” character, with 4 different shapes, dependin of the result.

Happy challenge !…

😉

Very cool. I called of course but I like your little character giving me a facial reaction along the way and a letter grade at the end.

Thanks Paul !… I know you are not as fluent in French as in English (That’s what you told us monday !!), but if you score 10/10 you get a Good Point !… and a Dunce Cap if you score 0/10 !!… 😉

Ludovic, this was so much fun and entertaining quiz. I liked the visual scoring and the buzzers to select the right answer.

Are there more of these?  Is it still going on? I would love to see some challenges. I have noticed a few different posts about challenges, but I  have missed them all. Challenges would be a great way to encourage creativity and for a newer user to learn.

Before there was an official program to submit projects to Adobe, users like me tried to get something going. We had been asking Adobe for years to come up with a weekly, monthly, or quarterly challenge for years.
