Captivate compared to Articulate
I have just completed a course in both Captivate and Articulate via Linkedin Learning so now have a distinct comparison between the two. Already a big advocate of Adobe (I have used CC for many years) I tried to adopt an impartial view. I was not disappointed, there is still work to be done to be fully up to speed with the slickness of the design software I used on a daily basis but I have to say, it is more intuitive than I expected. Mostly loving the ability to link with CC and Adobe Stock. Effortless when pulling in imagery from Photoshop and Illustrator making projects much quicker to produce. Looking forward to trying out the new 2019 additions/upgrades.
As an ACP I have been working with many Adobe applications, and often repeat that one of the biggest advantages of Captivate over other authoring tools is the close collaboration with other Adobe applications. You mentioned Photoshop and Illustrator. May I add Audition (which I use for every Captivate project) and Capture (mobile app which I often use for Theme colors palette), besides Animate CC? I also use Premiere Pro and Audition for editing captured video with Video Demo.
For future releases I hope to have access to my CC Libraries and integration with Character Animator. More dreams (Substance for 3D objects?) are in my mind, but those are my first priority.
Glad you agree and enjoy Captivate!
