Intro

A while ago I was asked to set up a testing environment for finding Captivate developers (intermediate level). TO limit the amount of time needing a translator, I set up two preliminary tests to filter candidates:

  • A Quiz about Captivate.
  • Several short assessment simulations.

Final evaluation was done orally by screening a project – chosen by the candidate – leading to a discussion.

If you like a challenge, I translated the Quiz to English for you. Have fun!  Feel free to post comments. The result of the quiz is not stored anywhere, but I would appreciate any comment. Maybe I will follow up by posting a ‘Review’ status of this quiz.

Hi Lieve, you may want to consider going back and reviewing some of these questions for thoroughness. For the question “Project Type: Is this the timeline of an interactive video?” I selected yes and attempted to submit the answer. It then told me I needed to select an answer before continuing. Some questions did not give feedback at all. Thanks for posting this content though, it was interesting and gave me some things I need to go back and review!

The original project was tested very thoroughly, feedback was not provided because it was used in a recruitment process as I explained. I never got anyone mentioning the other problem, and the only difference is in the used server.  Since I am a bit busy today, will try to double-check that particular slide to see if I can reproduce the problem, OK?

I could have add feedback here, but since there is almost never feedback on anything I post myself here in the portal my courage to add some more unpaid hours is getting low. On the contrary, I posted recently a post on my personal blog and on LinkedIn and saw over 1K views and several comments in less than 48hrs. That is a lot more encouraging of course.

Did you read my introduction? Due to what I see since 5 years in this portal, I don’t expect any blog to get many views. If users are interested I will post a ‘Review’ status. Same with the assessment simulation, which was the second step in the recruiting process. This first step was rather basic but that is of course my opinion. Of course I took into account what the client needed, and the fact that they would have to work in a team was also important.

Hi Lieve, this is a great captivate project. I would recommend adding correct answers or guidance feedback so that users who get questions wrong would be able to learn WHY they got the answer wrong. This is really fun and challenging and introduced some areas I see i could grow in.
