Export a Captivate Project into a Google document rather than WORD
(4)

My organization is switching from MS Suites to Google Workspace.  Very soon we won’t have access to PPT, or WORD.  We often need to download a Captivate Project into a WORD document for legal reasons using the Handouts option.  I need help to find out how we can use the Print option to create a PDF without going through WORD.  Captivate 2019 currently does not provide an option to create the PDF, it wants to download into a WORD doc.  If there’s not solution, it will mean many hours of copying and pasting from a Captivate project into a Google doc.  Please help.

Can you export it as a PDF? Or do you specifically need it in Google Docs?

Hi Elizabeth,

I fear the Captivate File/Print… and then Handout option needs Word to proceed. It practically goes process-wise hand in hand. Captivate opens all Text Captions, TEBs (not sure about texts in Smart Shapes) and transfers the contents and formattings to an open Word document. So it’s not just an export, it’s a running publishing process between Captivate and Word. Without MS Word it doesn’t work AFAIK.

I believe Google Docs has the ability to open Word Docs.

Could you just open the Word Doc in Google and turn around save that as a PDF?
