Hi,

I have an image with a white background which i would like to be transparent.

Is there a way to do this in Captivate? I can edit the image in a separate package without issue, I’m just wondering if there’s an option somewhere that i’ve missed?

There are a lot of background removal tools available in the market. According to my experience, I like the AI Background Remover from VanceAI. This photo enhancer is based on AI technology, which can automatically eliminate the background from the image within a few seconds and output results with accuracy. If you feel Photoshop is too hard for you, then you must try https://bgremover.vanceai.com/

To me this is a spam comment. On the offical Adobe forums where I am moderator I would delete this, but here I have no rights.

Hi Lieve and Michael,

Sorry, my post did include a screenshot but turns out the image didn’t post.

As it turned out, because the background was all one colour, captivate seemed to recognise this somehow and offered the option for background colour opacity! set that to 100 and got what i was after! woohoo!

Thanks for your help!

Great… I think you set the Transparency to 100%, Opacity or Alpha to 0% but that is just a typo.

Removing a background needs to be done in a graphics application. Personally I use Photoshop (for a bitmap image) or Illustrator (for a SVG). You didn’t specify the type of image. If you have the image already in Captivate, use the right-click menu on the image name in the Library and choose ‘Edit with…’ to use the roundtripping. You can choose whatever application you want to use.

It is not posssible to remove a background in Adobe Captivate. Captivate’s image editing tools allow you to crop an image and adjust some settings on the image but to remove the background you will need to use other tools. I use Adobe Photoshop, but you can also use web tools like https://www.remove.bg/ to remove backgrounds from your images.
