I am using the method to create branched navigation as discussed in this video.

https://elearning.adobe.com/adobe-captivate-tutorials/#menu

I’ve done this before in other projects without issue. I don’t know why I’m having problems with this one and I’ve tried everything I can think of.

I have three sections, Topic_1, Topic_2, and Topic_3. There is also a quiz button that is marked “not visible on output” Each button is named exactly the same as the group name. Each button has a rollover and completed state. I go through the module and click Topic_1, I go through all the slides and it takes me back to the branching slide and the Topic_1 button now appears as the “completed” state. I click Topic_2 button and same thing, it takes me back to the branching slide and Topic_2 button is completed. I go through Topic_3 and it returns me to the branching slide but the state still appears in the “Normal” state and the quiz button has not appeared.

Any ideas of what else I could check to troubleshoot this? I’ve checked the spelling and the groupings several times, I made sure the completed state for Topic_3 button was in there, I remade it just in case and it looks exactly like the Topic_1 and Topic_2 completed states.

Trouble shooting is the best way – retrace your steps and see what might not have been done correctly.

Troubleshooting is the same as building in this case Check the following characteristics…

  1. Make sure that your slide label is set to “branching”
  2. Make sure your buttons are labelled the same as your lesson groups
  3. Make sure the action on the final slide of each lesson group is Continue.
  4. Make sure your quiz button is called “quiz”

Here is a video I did when this feature was released. Perhaps following this video might give you some insight into why yours isn’t working as expected:
