When you import a Photoshop document into Premier Pro, you have a choice on how the document can be imported. In this tutorial, I import the layers separately and show you something you can do with the different layers.
Often when creating a training video, you will start with a graphic to introduce your video. Many eLearning professionals lean towards making these graphics in Adobe Photoshop. As you build Photoshop documents, you tend to have multiple layers. By default, Premier Pro will merge all the layers into a single image. This is similar to importing a PNG graphic. However, as shown in this tutorial, you can import the layers separately. These layers can be edited and animated separately.
Keeping in mind that it can also be difficult to animate separate layers, Premier Pro has the ability to Nest a variety of layers. This way animation or effects only have to be added on one layer. See what this tutorial will do to spark your imagination on how you can ramp up the use of images in your training video.
