Hello ! Needing a blind people accessible training, I’d find out how to let the automatic screen reader skip the useless decorative resources (images etc.). Thk’s for any idea !
Ha, Ha ! Very good question indeed ! The training is dedicated to everybody, blind or not blind people.
It contains some decorative images or backgrounds to limit space, that are usefull for viewing people.
By default, the screen reader describes each object present in the timeline, from the back to front.
If there is an image, it says “image” or read the alternative comment you can write in the accessiblity section. It is usefull if the image is a diagram or something containing information for the training, but useless if it is a bachground for a text for example : reading the text is enough. In some other software, you can check each object to choose if you want the screen reader to read it or not. I did not find something like that in Captivate, or any other tip to avoid this problem.
I did not find my answer through the link you sent me. Thank you for trying to help me.
Hi Cathacour
Maybe a stupid question, but if it is for blind people, why does your training contain “useless decorative resources” at all?
And have a look at this help page Accessibility and Adobe Captivate.
